Councillor Toby Savage with winners of the UMBRELLA competitionGrants totalling £70,000 are to be handed out to up to 10 small and medium sized businesses by South Gloucestershire Council.

Applications for the UMBRELLA competition open on 2 June 2025. This is a unique opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the digital technology sector to access funding, build connections and accelerate their growth. With support from South Gloucestershire Council and funding from the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority, digital tech businesses have a chance to secure a share of £70,000 in grants. From smart data tools and AI solutions to digital platforms and immersive technologies, the competition welcomes bold, future-focused innovations that have the potential to make an impact in our region and beyond.
